Birthdays last week are Enrique on Monday, Riley on Wednesday, and Allison on Thursday. We started technology week on Thursday. Technology week was a week that we had the mini computers to work on. Some of the things we did were daily 5, we learned how to do stuff with PowerPoint, made graphs, and played educational games. We did all of that on the mini computers. Congratulations to Annie who finished her 40 book challenge. Our 40 book challenge is a challenge that we are doing so we can learn to read different genres. It is something we can work on all year. Hope you liked riding on the trolley on Wednesday. The Trolley was for fire safety. The school fundraiser started on Tuesday. Hope you had fun at the Fall Festival. This Monday we started our Oreo project. We stacked as many Oreos as we could for this project. We found the median, mode, mean, range, maximum number, minimum number, and we did a graph on our mini computers of our classroom data. I hope you liked what you got from the book fair on Tuesday.
-Faith to edit. This week was suppose to be technology week, but was canceled. We were suppose to do an Oreo project on the maximum, minimum, mode, median, and range. Technology week was canceled because the notebooks [small computers] were shut down. We cannot do our Oreo project until the notebooks are up and running. I hope there up and running next week.
A few weeks ago our class started all of the daily five choices; read to self, respond to reading, read to someone, word work, and listen to reading. Our daily five lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. We do our daily five choices daily. My name is Jackson and I hope you like my report. Monday we had P.E. and we went out on the tennis court and passed the Frisbees
For daily 5 we have to do respond to reading and read to self. Then we have to pick one other choice. We have team names for each group. Are group names are East, Awesome, Angry Birds, Olympians, Moldy pickles, and the Ninjas. Which ever group is the quietest, desks cleaned off, and ready to do the next thing will get a point. Team Angry Birds won the first week. Then the Olympians won last week. Tuesday we had Library. We had a test on the Astronaut and the onion. Wednesday we had computer lab. We did Acuity for the first time. Thursday we had music and learned what the Waltz was. We had a Science test today. Friday we had Art. The people that have past addition were Mazey Wilson. The people who past subtraction and moved onto multiplication is Ragan Medaris, Madelyn Rohlfs, and Faith Briggs. This week has been great! We have done so many fun activities. It’s been fantastic! Allison DeBolt It has been a fantastic week here in the classroom, during the science stations, and our projects. The best thing this week was recess and gym. In gym we played soccer and at recess we hung out with our friends and played football. In class we like to do science/social studies stations & we like to read. In daily 5 we learned a new strategy, and it was listen to reading. Congrats to people who passed addidition in Xtra math, which are Jackson, Maycie, and Kaylyn. Jackson is the only one that has moved on to multiplication in Xtra math. Well, it turns out my classmates and I have had a pretty fun week.
-Brock Welcome to the new website! I am the class reporter. I am here to tell you what goes on inside the classroom. Usually, we start off with a couple of daily assignments in the morning. After that, we do our daily 5. Daily 5 is where we read and write, to build our stamina. We eat our snack around 10:00. At 11:15, Mr. Morris and Miss Ahrmann talk to us about what we will do after recess and lunch, which is usually science stations and math.
We go to recess at 11:20 and after recess we go to lunch. When we get back to the classroom we either do a math lesson or science stations. We practice building our stamina for daily 5, if we do not make it in the morning. Next, we would probably do a math lesson and math facts worksheet. After we complete the worksheet it would be about 2:00. Mr. Morris and Miss Ahrmann would hand us our homework and give us time in class to do it. We can work on our tic-tac-toe, unfinished assignments, homework, or read. At 2:30 it is time to go. Well, the last thing is, I wanted to congradulate Reagan, Madelyn, Wyatt, Licni, Jackson, and Brock for completing their addition facts and have moved on to subtraction facts on ExtraMath.com Thanks for Reading - Annie Every week, one student will be selected as the student reporter. This student will talk about all of the many activities that went on during classtime for that week and report it for us on our classroom website.
